E. Setauket Hedge Fund Executive Among Romney PAC Donors
Donor Robert Mercer has also donated to the New York State Conservative Party.
The chief executive of East Setauket-based hedge fund Renaissance Technologies donated $1 million to presidential candidate Mitt Romney's super PAC, Restore Our Future Inc., according to a Newsday report.
Robert Mercer also donated $1 million to the New York State Conservative Party in January of 2011. His other political contributions totaled $1,743,750.
Restore Our Future has operated by purchasing attack ads against Romney's rivals, including ad time purchased in Arizona, Michigan and Minnesota, Newsday reported.
