Here are the top four stories today in Three Village:
- Emma Clark Library welcomes historian Gary Lawrance to teach about the wealthy palaces inspired by European architecture. This lecture is scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 1, at 12:30 p.m. (Emma Clark Library)
- Gallery North always has something for art lovers. There will be a Watercolor Workshop with instructor Kate Schwarting on Friday, Feb. 3, from 6-9 p.m. The fee for class and materials is $75 per person. If you are interested in participating, please, visit the link I've shared. (All Events)
- After years of complaints from residents about the Brookhaven landfill, Town supervisor Ed Romaine announced the closure of the site will become a reality in 2024. Newsday has the story. (Newsday/Subscription Required)
- Hoyt Farm Nature Preserve has something special for those who want to enjoy the maple/sugaring classes on Sunday for just $5 per person! This unique event teaches native Americans techniques to obtain the maple and how to preserve it! What is good about this program is that it's open to all, which means that non-Smithtown residents are welcome to participate. Classes will be hosted on Feb. 19, Feb. 26, and March 5. I recommend you register before attending. (TBR News Media)
