1. Emma Clark Library welcomes historian Gary Lawrance to teach about the wealthy palaces inspired by European architecture. This lecture is scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 1, at 12:30 p.m. (Emma Clark Library)

4. Hoyt Farm Nature Preserve has something special for those who want to enjoy the maple/sugaring classes on Sunday for just $5 per person! This unique event teaches native Americans techniques to obtain the maple and how to preserve it! What is good about this program is that it's open to all, which means that non-Smithtown residents are welcome to participate. Classes will be hosted on Feb. 19, Feb. 26, and March 5.
