  1. Gallery North features the "Home Land Nature" exhibition through Nov. 13. Curator Han Qin displays woodblock prints, cyanotypes and more to express feelings of relocation, chaos and triumph. Visit gallerynorth.org to check out more events for October. (Patch)
  2. Emma Clark Library will accept donations of new pajamas of all sizes. Starting on Oct. 31, you can help those in need through our local library. All items will be given to local charities hosting holiday giveaways in Long Island communities. (Emma Clark Library)
  3. Registered voters who need to update their address have until Wednesday, Oct. 19, to do so. The update can be made at the local DMV in person or online at the Department of Motor Vehicles. (Comsewogue Library)
  4. Cars were on fire at the BMW dealership located at Middle Country Road in St. James. Nesconset Fire Department controlled the flames that engulfed four vehicles on Sunday. No injuries were reported. (LI News12)

Preservation Long Island and Long Island Museum will host a festive afternoon featuring food, music, arts and crafts at the Sherwood-Jayne Farm at 55 Old Post Road, East Setauket. The event kicks off on Saturday, Oct. 22, starting at noon. Tickets can be purchased here. (TBR News Media)
  • "A 42-year-old man was struck by debris that ricocheted off the door during a drive-by shooting in Centereach on Sunday morning, Suffolk police said." (Patch)
