Long Island Therapy Dogs, 'Fenway' And 'Cutch,' Hit A Home Run With Students
Handler Sarah Zagaja shared her book, "Raising Betty," telling about how after a bad fire her family paid it forward by raising a guide dog.
EAST SETAUKET, NY — It was a home run in the proverbial sense, for sure.
Therapy dogs,"Fenway" and "Cutch," were a hit with kindergartners at Nassakeag Elementary School as they helped teach about the importance of paying it forward with local author, Sarah Zagaja, who visited to share her book, “Raising Betty.”
The book tells the story of the generosity Zagaja’s family received after losing their home in a fire, and that outpouring of love and support from the community led them to pay forward the kindness by raising a guide dog named "Betty."
