ICE Grants Reprieve for Stony Brook Student Facing Deportation

Immigration and Customs Enforcement will further review Nadia Habib's case.

Stony Brook University student Nadia Habib and her mother Nazrin have been granted a three-month reprieve, the New York Daily News reported Thursday.

According to the report, Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials said they will review her case and meet with them again in three months. In the meantime, Habib is happy to celebrate her 20th birthday – Sept. 30 – at home.

"Obviously, it's a roller coaster," said Habib, a junior majoring at Stony Brook University. "I'm just really grateful to be able to stay here longer."
