  1. The Jazz Loft in Stony Brook celebrates Black Month History with an exhibit of Louis Armstrong, Lloyd Trotman, and other Black jazz musicians! This event is set for Thursday to Saturday from noon to 5 p.m. For more information, visit thejazzloft.org. (Newsday/Subscription Required)
  2. Three Village Patch congratulates the Ward Melville High School students for participating in the Annual High School Mathematical Contest in Modeling. The students resolved a designation with the highest score in the contest. (Three Village Patch)
  3. No registration is required to participate in the “Game Days” at the Emma Clark Library. This weekly event is hosted on Fridays from 10 a.m. to noon. The library provides physical space with tables and chairs. Participants are asked to bring their board games and friends. (ECML)

  • Looking forward to trying a new eatery on the Long Island scene? La Perla Restaurant and Bar is now open at 65 East Main St. in Riverhead. There you will find a variety of Hispanic, Italian, and American dishes. The new spot opens seven days a week from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.(Riverhead News Review)
  • Suffolk Police had a unique rescue mission this week. Officers rescued a dog from frigid Lake Ronkonkoma on Sunday morning! Nobody knows how the puppy ended up in the water, but he was rescued safely, and no injuries were reported. (News 12 Long Island)
