Jazz Loft Series Puts Spotlight On SBU Doctorate Students

A public recital is part of the requirements to fulfill the Doctorate of Musical Arts.

The Jazz Loft, 275 Christian Avenue in Stony Brook, presents some of the newest upcoming voices on the Jazz scene, with its Bright Moments Series showcasing Stony Brook University students seeking a Doctorate of Musical Arts. The series begins in May with three concerts in the main performance room. Tickets: $10 for general admission, $5 for senior and student, and are free to all Stony Brook faculty and staff with ID.

Monday, May 8, at 7 p.m.

Doctoral candidates Jeremy Carlstedt on drums and Elliot Brown on the trombone.

Monday, May 15, at 7 p.m.

Doctoral candidates Vince Guarna on bass and Livio Almeida on tenor sax.
