Ms. Herrmann gathered old sweaters and cut them into squares. Students then patched them together to make a quilt. They applied what they learned in their recent measurement unit to find the circumference of a tree and made a colorful tree sweater. The collaborative effort showed students how “junk” can become art, all while helping the planet and bringing attention to the importance of trees.
