Local Scouts Serve Up Sweets, Help Families in Need

Thanks to a group of caring Cub Scouts, several families in need will get a little holiday cheer in the form of gift cards.

Cub Scout Troop Pack 70 held a bake sale last Wednesday at Nassakeag Elementary School. Troop leader Scott Motekew said he has been involved with the sale for the past five years and due to their efforts, the troop will donate gift certificates totaling $475 to families in need in the Nassakeag area.

Last month the troop donated Thanksgiving baskets and held a car wash that benefited “Rachel’s Challenge” and inspired the boys to begin a "Cub Scouts Against Bullying Campaign".
