LONG ISLAND, NY — A Long Island teacher is out of the classroom this week, school district officials say, after an anti-Trump post about immigration that was reportedly circulated on social media.

In a letter to parents, Principal Michael Jantzen said Pamila Pahuja, a science teacher at R.C. Murphy Junior High School in Stony Brook, will be out of the classroom "until further notice."

A public relations representative for the Three Village School District said administrators would not answer any further questions.

NBC 15 reported that screenshots from Facebook show a post allegedly written by Pahuja that mentions Immigration and Customs Enforcement raids in Chicago and that it will only be a matter of time before agents "come for all women."

The post then goes on to say: “To all Trump supporters — hope the next time you take a drink it doesn’t swallow right and you go get help but no one is there and you slowly wither away while struggling to gasp and you suffer long. That’s what you want for people you deem not worthy right? Don’t worry, I’ll pray for it to last longer," according to the outlet.

Jantzen in his letter said officials have taken steps to ensure a smooth transition and continued high-quality instruction in science, and that a qualified and certified science teacher would be assigned to class in Pahuja's absence.
