Here are the top stories in Three Village today:
- Loss at the local landmark : Strong feelings about the loss of a Stony Brook eatery. There was vocal opposition to the Main Street restaurant’s closure. Protest about the local institution’s need to find a new location and a new lease. While the three village community serves up a good array of dining options, Pentimento was a long time favorite. Residents found the closing especially difficult to process since the pandemic has caused the shuttering of a variety of establishments. Although, other reasons have been cited for the landmark restaurant’s demise, losing this jewel becomes more poignant admit the sea of retail and culinary losses during the past year and a half. It has been suggested that the restaurant's owners will find a new location locally, but time will tell if there will be a rebirth of this village favorite.(Facebook)
- Simple Family Fun: Benner’s Farm known in Three Village for sweet maple syrup is hosting exciting classes and workshops for all ages this fall. We are all searching for an outdoor family activities while balmy autumn weather is still upon us. What better way to enjoy nature than at the farm? (Benner's Farm)
- Emma Clark library :Is a huge asset to the communities that comprise the three villages. Now, the library is offering to take its neighbors on a journey catapulting them to interior Chinatown. The One Book , One Community event gives readers the the chance to read the Book Interior Chinatown and to subsequently join a Zoom discussion with its author Professor E. K. Tan a. Professor Tan teaches in the department of comparative literature and Asian – American studies. As political opinions divide and our worlds begin to feel a little bit smaller from restrictions and mandates, conversations like the one extended by the library and this esteemed professor can give us the jolt we need. Open your imagination and your mind to other cultures and philosophies to learn and to combat those doldrums. The Zoom discussion will be held at 7 p.m. and is sure to inspire participants to delve more into the world around us and resist self -imposed barriers and perceived fences. (Emma S. Clark Library)
