Man Assaulted with Bottle at Kumo Restaurant on New Year's Eve

The following incidents were reported to the Suffolk County police between Dec. 19 and Jan. 1.

-An employee at Kumo restaurant on Nesconset Hwy. in Stony Brook was sent to the hospital after being hit on the head with a bottle in the early morning hours of New Year's Day. according to police.

The man, who works security for the restaurant, required stitches. The incident happened at about 2 a.m.

-A theft was reported at a home on Quaker Path. The caller said the incident happened between Dec. 19 and Dec. 29, while they were away. According to police, the front door was forced open and jewelry was taken.

-An incident of criminal mischief was reported to police after an entry fence by the security booth at West Meadow Beach was damaged on New Year's Day according to police.
