Employees saying store is preparing to move.

According to shoppers, employees at arts and crafts store Michael's in Lake Grove have said the store is preparing to move about three miles away to the former Borders location at 2130 Nesconset Highway in Stony Brook.

Although a sign outside the building indicated that Michael's is "coming soon," a company representative could not comment on the move.

Some shoppers at Michael's have recently said the company's move fills two roles: not only would it be more convenient for some, but it would also satisfy one of two vacancies in that shopping center. , and OfficeMax – – closed in January.
