Police Trying To ID Woman Who Died In Suffolk Crash Saturday

The crash took place in Stony Brook, police say.

STONY BROOK, NY — A pedestrian died after being struck in Stony Brook Saturday, police said.

According to Suffolk County police, the incident took place at Nicolls Road and Nesconset Highway at 5:30 p.m. A Commack woman, 27, was driving a 2025 Volkswagen southbound on Nicolls Road when she struck a pedestrian who was in the roadway at the intersection of Nesconset Highway, police said.

Police are attempting to identify the pedestrian, who was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital, where she was pronounced dead, police said.

The woman is described as a Hispanic female and about 30 to 40 years old, police said.

The driver was not injured, police said.

Police are asking anyone with information on the crash to contact Sixth Squad detectives at 631-854- 8646.
