POLL: "Happy Holidays" or "Merry Christmas"?
Which term do you prefer this time of year?

The word "holiday," when used as an all-inclusive term, seems to have come under fire. It's been called taking political correctness too far and making the word "Christmas" almost unspeakable. On the other hand, retailers who do not know the religious background of their customers have encouraged employees to say "Happy Holidays" in place of "Merry Christmas."
At the Stony Brook Village Center, the annual tree lighting was billed as the "holiday tree," and in nearby Mount Sinai, raged over whether the town was lighting its Christmas tree or its "holiday tree."
