  1. Slow Go Into Fall: Many commuters in the community are finding commutes and traffic increasing the length of daily rush hour journeys. Commuters are finding the trip to and from work to take double and triple the time it used to take on the road pre-pandemic. There is speculation about the effect of migration to the suburbs aggravating traffic concerns, but what do you think is the cause? (LongIsland.com)
  2. Halloween Happenings: On Oct. 23 at 11 a.m., Little Rose Bake Shop is having a pop up event. Cookie painting kits and other spooky goodies will be available. The event will be just in time for all ghosts and goblins to satisfy their sweet tooth. So plan early to have a little decorating fun mixed with this Halloween’s festivities. (Facebook)
  3. East Setauket Fire Department: Numerous fire trucks raced to the scene of a large fire in East Setauket Tuesday morning. At least 16 fire departments from towns across Suffolk County arrived at the blaze. The fire burned through a horse complex on Brewster Place, where the animals were housed and received rehabilitation. Although the horses were safely evacuated, three people were reported to have minor injuries. Newsday also reported that the farm had recently changed hands for upwards of $19 million, and the original owners have relocated to Kentucky. (Newsday)
  4. Roth Food Court Grand Opening: Celebrate the grand opening celebration of the all new Roth Food Court featuring three new concepts: Chef Jet's Modern Asian Kitchen, Tadka - Essence of India and Mac & Cheesyology.
