Long Island Weather: Dangerous Wind Chills, Weekend Snow Possible
Negative wind chill temps early in the week with the potential for a snowstorm next weekend. Bundle up.

LONG ISLAND, NY — Four degrees below zero. That's how cold it will feel on Long Island Tuesday morning, according to the National Weather Service, which has issued a special weather statement for the region.
Wind chill temperatures of near o to 10 below zero are likely Monday tonight into Tuesday morning. The bone-chilling cold will be from temperatures about 10 degrees combined with northwest winds of around 15 to 20 mph.
The temperature likely won't get back above the freezing point of 32 degrees until late Wednesday morning.

"If you need to be outside, be prepared for the wind and cold, and dress in layers and wear a hat, heavy coat, as well as gloves or mittens," the weather service advises. "Frostbite can occur in a short amount of time, so dress in layers and make sure all exposed skin is protected."
There's a slight chance of snow showers Monday night, but otherwise the rest of the workweek should be dry. Forecasters are keeping a close eye on the next snowstorm chance next weekend.
