1. Emma Clark Memorial Library will be closed on Monday, Jan. 16, in observance of Martin Luther King Day. The library reopens on Tuesday during its regular hours. (Emma Clark Library)

3. SBU Professor, John Fleagle, won the Charles Darwin Lifetime Achievement Award. The American Association of Biological Anthropology grants the award. A special ceremony is scheduled for April in Nevada. (Press Release Desk)
4. The Town of Brookhaven Town is launching the “Bark in the Mew Year” promotion this month to encourage people to adopt. The center offers a $65 fee per adoption, including free neutering or spaying, tests, vaccinations, and more.
