  1. They say what is a blessing for some can be a "curse" for others. As the holiday approaches, many people may feel sad and lonely. That can open the windows for depression or suicide. The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) says suicide is high among Americans aged 10 to 34.   • Three people were killed in a single-vehicle crash on Nicholls Road. The driver lost control of the vehicle leaving the roadway and crashing into the woods. Sadly, all occupants were pronounced dead at the scene. Click on the link to read the whole story. (Patch)
  • The Town of Brookhaven hosted a Hanukah celebration on Tuesday. Rabbi Mendy Goldberg led the event. Participants listened to stories, heard some songs, and enjoyed refreshments. (Patch)
