Stony Brook's Pentimento Restaurant Closes After 27 Years
The Italian restaurant in Stony Brook Village served its last customers on Tuesday; owners said they were unable to keep their lease.

STONY BROOK, NY—Pentimento Restaurant has been a popular staple in Stony Brook Village Center for 27 years, but on Tuesday the eatery closed its doors for the last time.
The owners Lisa Cusumano and Dennis Young announced the closure in July, explaining that they were unable to continue their lease and that Sept. 30 would be the last day of business for both the market and the restaurant. This week, the restaurant held "an everything must go" sale.
The Pentimento Facebook and Instagram accounts will stay active, the owners said, as they look for a possible new location in the Three Village area.
