Suspect Swiped Over $1K In Goods From Walmart In Suffolk: Police

He first stole garden tools, then returned around an hour later to pilfer more merchandise, Suffolk police say.

SETAUKET, NY — Suffolk police are seeking the public’s help in finding the suspect they say swiped over $1,000 worth of goods twice on the same day from Walmart in Setauket back in May.

The man stole garden tools, valued at around $610, from the Nesconset Highway store on May 24 at about 5:28 p.m., police said, adding that the man returned to the store at 6:30 p.m. and took assorted merchandise valued at $531.

Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward for information leading to an arrest, police said.

Anyone with information about the incidents can submit an anonymous tip by calling 1-800-220-TIPS, a confidential hotline, using a mobile app, which can be downloaded through the App Store or Google Play by searching P3 Tips.
