Things to Do in Three Village: #48 – Enjoy Art at Gallery North

Setauket's own art gallery brings a taste of the New York City art scene to Three Village.

is all decked out for the holidays, which is fitting for its current exhibit: "Winter Cheer: Art for Holiday Giving." More than 70 works of various types – paintings, drawings, works in wood, ceramics, hand-blown glass, and more – are currently being featured as perfect holiday gift ideas with a varied price range.

But the selling of art isn't the gallery's sole purpose. Director Judith Levy has said the gallery strives to be a sophisticated venue for art, much like a New York City gallery.

"Of course we promote local artists," she said, "but we're also bringing in artists from the nearby regions. Part of our mission is to educate the public about art, so we're trying to bring different types of things in the area."
