1. Wai Law ran a 320-plus-mile around Long Island to raise funds for Parkinson's disease research. Law started his run on July 22 at Stony Brook University and will run to Queens before returning to the university. He aims to raise $32,000 and donate it to two programs at Stony Brook University. 2. Ward Melville students let the nature sceneries "drip from their finger" while participating in the "Young Nature Writers Workshop" at the Avalon Nature Preserve in Stony Brook. Participants wrote poems and stories after hiking in the park. (TV School District)
3. A tribute to Selena and Gloria Estefan will be hosted at Port Jefferson Theatre Three on July 30. The concert starts at 8 p.m. at 412 Main St. (Patch)
