- Stony Brook art students to be featured in The MFA Thesis Exhibition 2022. Dilge Dilsiz, Daniel Donato, and Heather Weston are presenting paintings, sculptures, prints, and photographs at the Zuccaire Gallery, located on the second floor of the Staller Center. The exhibit will be on display until April 14. (Stony Brook News)
- "Marie Currie's Life and Work" will be discussed at the Emma S. Clark Memorial Library on March 26 at 2 p.m. Edward Sierra, who is the president of the Long Island Chapter of the American Nuclear Society, will lead the group presentation into the life of the woman who won the Nobel Prize twice. - Nonprofit Paws of War in Nesconset teamed up with an organization overseas to help refugees who fled from Ukraine to have essentials for their pets. Most of the families who escaped don't have food for their pets and nonprofits are promoting campaigns to benefit the animals through donations. (Patch)
- A former Port Jefferson resident is facing charges after turning herself in for an elderly assault that resulted in death. Lauren Pazienza, 26, who lived on Old Homestead Road, is being charged with first-degree manslaughter after pushing an 87-year-old to the ground. The victim later died from her injuries. For the next month or so, gamblers at Jake’s 58 Casino will have the option at cash-out machines to donate part of their winnings to the humanitarian efforts in Ukraine. Tony Pancella, the president and CEO of Suffolk County OTB, says they are 'kicking it off with a $10,000 donation,' courtesy of the OTB and Jake's.
