- Stony Brook School of Communication hosted a teach-in about the Ukrainian war. An international group of correspondents spoke with the event participants via video. The event was hosted by the School’s Marie Colvin Center for International Reporting. (Stony Brook News)
- Emma Clark Memorial Library will host the West Meadow Beach Nature Walk. Put your comfortable shoes on to learn about the flora and fauna at the West Meadow beach. Instructor Nicole Pocchiare will explore the unique ecology of the beach and salt marsh on March 30 at 10 a.m. For details, click here. (ECML)
- Port Jefferson Middle School has been ranked in the 2021-22 New York Mathematics League contest. "Port Jefferson School District Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction Dr. Robert Neidig congratulated the students and lauded math teachers Megan Roth-Ueno, Megan Ryan, and Jamie Veraldi for their daily efforts in encouraging students to explore mathematical ideas and solve complex problems." - Old Fields is expanding its steps with a new location in Stony Brook. The modern Italian restaurant is expected to open by late spring in the former Pentimento spot in Stony Brook. (Greater Long Island)
- Multiple people were arrested at Curry Club at SaGhar In Port Jefferson. The arrests were made during a New York State Liquor Authority inspection. Indu Kaur, 47, of East Setauket, is facing charges for employing unlicensed security guards. There were also 454 people in the bar, which was over its capacity of 146 people. (Smithtown Matters)

- "A search is on for the driver of a car that contained a stash of drugs and fled from a traffic stop on the Long Island Expressway before crashing into a telephone pole on a nearby street, Suffolk County Sheriff Errol Toulon's office said. Deputies were traveling westbound on the Long Island Expressway, east of exit 67 in a marked unit just before 4 p.m., when they saw a 2020 Mazda with Georgia license plates traveling at a high rate of speed and two males inside, according to Toulon's office."
