- The Reboli Center hosts the "Mouse Paint Movement" class for kids aged 4-7. The event will be held on Aug. 15, from 10 to 11 a.m., with artists Susan Blake and Pamela Herbst leading the group. Class is $20 per child. To register, visit www.rebolicenter.org/events. (Smithtown Matters)
- For those looking for an outing this weekend, the Summer Concerts are back in Stony Brook, with a concert scheduled for Sunday, Aug. 14, at 7 p.m. in front of the Stony Brook Post Office. (Stony Brook Village)
- Judge Tara M. Higgins favored the Port Jefferson ice cream owner in the citation he was facing for hanging signs supporting Trump. On July 29, Roger’s Frigate owner George Wallis faced a fine over violating the village sign ordinances. The judge decided to protect Wallis's free speech rights. (Newsday/Subscription Required)
