- Stony Brook University Hospital employees and John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church in Riverhead are working together on collecting items to be shipped overseas to help refugees. A donation drive was held through March 31 at the Heart Center in the CCU. (Stony Brook News)
- Three Village Garden Club Volunteer Day is set for April 16 from noon to 3 p.m. The garden is located at Frank Melville Park and also offers youth programs. Click here to volunteer or to learn about the youth program. (Avalon Preserve)

- Bagel Express, located at 15 Bennetts Road, Setauket, was broken into at about 11:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 27. Cash was stolen from the register. (Patch)
- After Connecticut’s lobster industry closure 20 years ago, federal funding was approved to begin removing lobster traps left on the floor of the Long Island Sound. The traps are still killing marine life and the approval of $569,000 in federal grants will finance the plan to hire local fishermen to remove an initial 3,000 traps over two years. - Theatre Three will host a food and personal care items drive to help the Open Cupboard Pantry at Infant Jesus Church on Sunday, April 3 from 9 a.m. to noon.
