1. Stony Brook University Hospital employees and John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church in Riverhead are working together on collecting items to be shipped overseas to help refugees. A donation drive was held through March 31 at the Heart Center in the CCU. (Stony Brook News)

5. After Connecticut’s lobster industry closure 20 years ago, federal funding was approved to begin removing lobster traps left on the floor of the Long Island Sound. The traps are still killing marine life and the approval of $569,000 in federal grants will finance the plan to hire local fishermen to remove an initial 3,000 traps over two years.
