Here are the top stories today in Three Village:

  1. A Three Village School District student was arrested for making a social media threat against the R.C. Murphy Junior High School in Stony Brook. According to the police, the incident happened on the night of Sept. 15, when the 15 year old announced his intentions to bring weapons to the school. (Patch)
  2. Emma Clark Library will host the visit of a Suffolk County sheriff who will teach the proper way to dispose of unused medications. The class will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 21, at noon in the library's Board Room. (Patch Events)
  3. The Jazz Loft features its 7th annual Harbor Jazz Festival. The fest will bring international musicians performing from Sept. 21 through 24 at the Stony Brook waterfront at 275 Christian Ave. Access the full schedule of performances here. (TBR News Media)
  4. This month, Long Islanders are walking to prevent Alzheimer's disease. Around 1,500 gather at Belmont Lake State Park to raise money to support the research of the disease, a brain disorder that affects memory and thinking ability.
