Three Village Students Craft Special Surprises For Veterans

Posters were made for Northport VA Medical Center, as well as goodie bags and placemats for Cooking for Long Island Veterans.

THREE VILLAGE, NY — Three Village's elementary school students took part in activities and service projects to thank local veterans ahead of Veterans Day, officials said in a news release.

At Arrowhead, students wrote cards of gratitude and designed posters to be donated to the Northport VA Medical Center. Similarly, at Minnesauke Elementary School, 4th graders created posters and cards for the residents at the Long Island State Veterans Home in Stony Brook.

At Minnesauke, Mrs. Beck and Mrs. Henkowitz’ 5th grade class made goodie bags and placemats for Veterans Day and Thanksgiving so that Tracy Bogush, a staff member who volunteers at Cooking for Long Island Veterans, can deliver the bags and placemats on one of her delivery runs.
