Ward Melville High School students attended the Journalism Education Association/National Scholastic Press Association National Yearbook Convention in San Francisco, California where the 2022 Ward Melville High School Invictus Yearbook was awarded third place for Best in Show. The convention brought together 4,000 high school journalism students to participate in workshops, breakout sessions and competitions in all types of scholastic student media.

Additionally, six Ward Melville students took home individual awards. Congratulations to the following students:

  • Emily Aron – First place with a superior ranking in graphic design: photo illustration
  • Caroline Woo – Excellent ranking in graphic design: infographics
  • Emily Hoefler – Excellent ranking in graphic design: advertising
  • Christina Coppi – Excellent ranking in graphic design: cover/end sheets
  • Angelina Lawlor – Excellent ranking in graphic design: theme layout
  • Izzy Tantillo – Excellent ranking in first-year photo
