Woman Uses Stolen Credit Card In South Setauket: Police

The woman used the card, stolen from a Smithtown woman, to purchase a laptop valued at $1,954 from Best Buy, police say.

SOUTH SETAUKET, NY — Suffolk County Crime Stoppers is seeking the public's help finding the woman who, police said, used a stolen credit card at a South Setauket store in March.

A woman used a credit card, which had been reported stolen by a Smithtown woman, to buy a laptop valued at $1,954 from Best Buy, at 261 Pond Path, around 11:10 a.m. March 9, police said.
The woman drove away in a gray minivan, police said. She is wanted for grand larceny.

Police ask anyone with information to reach Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and leave an anonymous tip via phone call at 1-800-220-TIPS, using a mobile app which can be downloaded through the App Store or Google Play by searching P3 Tips, or online at www.P3Tips.com. A cash reward is offered for information that leads to an arrest.
