3 Firefighters Injured In Fire On The Upper East Side, FDNY Says
The fire started just after 10 a.m. on Friday. Videos show a thick column of black smoke rising over the block.

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — Three firefighters were injured Friday morning when a three-alarm fire broke out on a rooftop on the Upper East Side, New York City Fire Department officials said.
According to the FDNY, the fire started just after 10 a.m. on Friday on the roof of 305 East 95th St., which is a seven-story apartment building between Second Avenue and First Avenue.
Deputy Assistant Chief James Canty said the fire spread to the cockloft and into three penthouses on the top floor of the building before firefighters were able to contain the blaze.

No other buildings were affected.
The firefighters suffered minor injuries, Canty said.

FDNY said approximately 170 firefighters and other emergency responders responded to the scene.

The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
