85-Year-Old Killed In Car Crash On The Upper East Side, Police Say

No arrests have been made yet, police said.

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — An 85-year-old pedestrian was struck and killed by a van on the Upper East Side on Monday afternoon, New York City Police Department officials said.

According to the NYPD, the man was crossing the street around 2:42 p.m. at Park Avenue and East 91st Street when a Mercedes-Benz sprinter van hit him on Park Avenue.

The pedestrian was rushed to Weill Cornell Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, police department officials said.

The driver of the van remained on the scene, and no arrests have been made yet, police said.

Police said the name of the victim is being kept private until his family can be properly notified.
