UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — While the Uffizi Gallery and the Palazzo Vecchio are staying put in Florence, the world-famous Italian sandwich maker a stone's throw away from the home of Michelangelo's "David" is coming to the Upper East Side sometime this summer, according to filings with Community Board 8.

All’Antico Vinaio, a famous — and now viral — focaccia (technically, its the thinner variety, schiacciata) sandwich shop will be opening up their third New York City location on East 60th Street between Park and Madison avenues inside a former art gallery.

Their other two Big Apple locations are heralded for their tasty and "irresistible" sandwiches, according to the New Yorker, with the freshly-made schiacciata loaded to American excess with authentic Tuscan ingredients like stracciatella, mortadella and a pistachio cream.

They even have a roast beef sandwich, with onion porcini cream, called "The New Yorker."

But in this day and age, anything that good comes with long lines of tourists, New Yorkers and hype-beasts alike, desperate for a taste of heaven — or maybe just a selfie while holding one.

The sandwiches are priced between $12 to $20.

All’Antico Vinaio first opened in Florence in 1989, where its three locations became popular tourist attractions for what Savaeur magazine called "the world's best sandwiches."

They brought their world-famous sandwiches — and long lines — to New York in 2019, first as a pop-up, then with their first proper shop in Times Square in 2021.

The new Upper East Side location was first reported by Upper East Site.

Last fall, All’Antico Vinaio opened a Sullivan Street shop in Greenwich Village. And just in March, the sandwich superstars announced they would be opening a location in Las Vegas this coming fall.
