UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — Othership is landing on the Upper East Side.

Othership — the unique sauna and cold plunge spa from Toronto — is bringing its guided wellness rituals to a new Upper East Side location in 2027, the brand told Patch.

The new spa, which will be located at 201 East 86th St. on the corner of Third Avenue, will be the brand's "most ambitious space yet" at 14,000-square-feet of pools, plunges, showers, and saunas, the brand said.

"This ‘Social Spa’ concept reflects everything we’ve learned about how people want to feel today, and is meant to provide a place to pause and reset outside of the busy rhythms of daily New York life."

The spa’s expansive chambers are designed to host both professionally guided classes and self-directed experiences, allowing guests to move freely between hot saunas and cold plunges.

The space is set to include a neutral-temperature pool, a communal cold plunge, a hot tub, a "ritual sauna," a "sound sauna," a steam room, rain showers, and areas intended to encourage light social interaction, along with a "custom scent profile," the brand said.

"What will make this space unique is the emotional pace of it," says Co-Founder Amanda Laine.

"The environment is being designed to invite people to unwind, and the connection that happens after that feels organic. We want people to move through it almost like a shared meditation."

The space will also host live music, singles events, social events, and more, the founders said.

An opening date for the spa has not been released yet, the brand said.
