Accused UES Juice Shop Stabber Charged With Attempted Murder: NYPD

Police charged a 23-year-old woman who lived just five blocks away with attempted murder.

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — A Midtown woman was arrested a week after a juice shop worker was critically wounded when an irate customer slashed him with a knife, according to officials.

East Midtown resident Chala Jamison was arrested and charged with attempted murder and burglary, police said on Wednesday.

Last Wednesday, Jamison, 23, got in an argument with a worker at a Savoy Plaza Juice Island on Third Avenue near East 61st Street at about 8:30 p.m., officials claim.

As the argument escalated, police claim that Jamison grabbed a knife from the counter and stabbed the 39-year-old worker several times in his head, neck, back and hands.

Jamison ran away toward the river on East 61st Street as medics rushed the critically injured man to New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center, police said.

The victim has since been released from the hospital and is recovering at home, according to police.
