Attempted Rape In Central Park: Police

Police are seeking the public's help to find a male who tried to rape a woman Saturday in the park, according to authorities.

The incident occurred around 5:10 a.m., when the 38-year-old victim was approached by the male in the area of 85 East Drive, police said.

NEW YORK — Police are seeking the public’s help to find a male who tried to rape a woman Saturday in Central Park, according to authorities.

The incident occurred around 5:10 a.m., when the 38-year-old victim was approached by the male in the area of 85 East Drive, police said. He pushed her over a metal fence, punched her repeatedly in the face and tried to rape her before fleeing on a bicycle north on Fifth Avenue, according to police.

The woman was taken to an area hospital in stable condition, police said.
