MIDTOWN, NY — Sure, the trees are filled with leaves, flowers are in bloom and New Yorkers are sleeping with their windows open.

But for many, the real sign of summer is hundreds of people doing cat-cow in Bryant Park.

For its 20th year, yoga in Bryant Park is starting up again at the end of the month. Classes run from May 31 until September 27 at the park's sprawling lawn and, as always, are free for all to join in and find peace, calm and wellness.

“Twenty years ago, we started one of the first free outdoor yoga programs in New York City. It has grown from a handful of participants then, to sometimes over a thousand yogis on the lawn in recent years,” said Daniel Biederman, executive director of Bryant Park Corporation, the nonprofit that helps maintain and operate the park. “We’re always delighted to be joined by so many yoga enthusiasts.”

The historic Midtown park just released their lineup of over 30 top instructors for the free twice-weekly classes, held on Tuesdays at 10 a.m. and Wednesdays at 6 p.m. — though the September Wednesday classes start at 5:30 p.m.
