Commuters Evacuated After UES Subway Hits Pipe, MTA Says
Subway lines were rerouted as a result of the incident.

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — An entire train full of commuters was evacuated after a subway struck a metal pipe near the 59th Street station on Monday, prompting significant service changes, according to the MTA.
First reported by PIX11, passengers on the train were transferred to a rescue train that continued toward 68th Street, the MTA said.
Several lines were rerouted as a result of the incident, according to the MTA.

Downtown 5 trains are running on the 2 line between 149th Street–Grand Concourse and Nevins Street, while downtown 6 trains are running express between 125th Street and Grand Central–42nd Street.
