Daily Provisions Coming To Upper East Side

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — A longtime Carnegie Hill diner is being replaced with Danny Meyer.

Daily Provisions, the popular cafe and sandwich shop, is slated to take over 1381 Madison Ave., according to building permits.

The location — a roomy, ground-floor space on the corner of East 96th Street and Madison Avenue — was formerly the home to a diner, 3 Guys Restaurant, which shuttered last year.

Locals, and undoubtedly many employees of Mount Sinai Hospital just a few blocks away, will soon be able to sample an array of egg sandwiches, fresh bread and a wide variety of pastries, all hallmarks of the Danny Meyer bakery and cafe.

The news was first highlighted by popular neighborhood Instagram account, UES Things, and reported by blog, East Side Feed.

Patch reached out to Daily Provisions last week to learn more, but the eatery has yet to respond.

The acclaimed restaurateur opened the first Daily Provisions spot in Union Square in 2017 and quickly garnered praise for its egg sandwiches and baked goods, which Eater called a "cheffed-up creation" in a review at the time of its opening (Eater also noted at the time that their crullers "could be the next cronut").

For those looking beyond their egg sandwich offerings, there's also avocado toast, granola and yogurt, an everything croissant, muffins and a cheesy egg gougère.

But its not just breakfast and treats — Daily Provisions also boasts sandwiches, salads, soups and mains, which include both whole and half roast chickens, salmon, a large kale caesar salad and a family-style chicken dinner which serves three.

In addition to their first Union Square location, Daily Provisions has outposts on the Upper West Side, Midtown and the West Village.
