Danish Bakery Ole & Steen Brings Viral Croissants To UES Outpost
The new East 87th Street bakery will be bringing their new croissant creations to the Upper East Side every Friday until October.

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — A brand-new Danish bakery is bringing their new croissant creations to the Upper East Side for a limited time.
Danish bakery Ole & Steen announced this week that their newest outpost of Scandinavian pastry delights, located at 1280 Lexington Ave. on the corner of East 87th Street, will soon feature new limited edition croissants.
Formerly exclusive to Smorgasburg at the World Trade Center, these sweet treats are now available for all Upper East Siders every Friday through the end of October, according to a company spokesperson.

Guests will have the option to enjoy any of the following:
"Avoid the Smorgasburg crowds and head to 1280 Lexington Avenue to grab these innovative new croissants (along with an all-new Lavender Lemonade!), only available at Smorgasburg and Ole & Steen Upper East Side," a company spokesperson said.

To continue the summer celebrations, the brand also announced that guests can visit any Ole & Steen location during the NYC Pride Parade on June 30 to enjoy a buy one, get one free coffee offer.
Founded in Copenhagen in 1991 by Ole Kristofferson and Steen Skallebaek, the beloved shop known as Lagkagehuset in Denmark opened its first U.S. location in 2019.
"New York City is a melting pot of many different cultures and we had the dream of wanting to bring our Danish culture and traditions to one of the greatest cities in the world and educate our US customers on the Danish ways," their website states.
They opened their first U.S. outpost in Union Square in 2019, followed by bakeries in Tribeca, Bryant Park, and Midtown East. The bakery also has locations across London, England.
The company is renowned for its hearty rye breads and pastries, including local interpretations of Danish classics like raspberry spandauer, the Copenhagener, and vanilla cream cheese spandauer, as well as its signature cinnamon social and substantial smørrebrød sandwiches.
