UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — A pedestrian suffered serious physical injuries after a stranger on an electric bike slammed into him in an Upper East Side hit-and-run, police said.

The 75-year-old pedestrian was on Third Avenue near 77th Street, trying to cross from the northwest corner to the northeast corner of the intersection when the crash occurred around 1 p.m. on May 21, police said.

An NYPD spokesperson stated that the cyclist, who has not been identified, struck the man while disobeying proper direction in the bike lane, knocking him to the ground.

The e-bike rider zipped off, leaving the pedestrian on the street with serious physical injuries, police said.

Medics rushed the victim to New York-Presbyterian Weill Cornell Medical Center in serious but stable condition.

Cops are still searching for the cyclist and have released photos of them in an effort to identify the individual.

A police spokesperson was not able to provide a description of the suspect.
