UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — The latest French patisserie to open in the Upper East Side is one with a bit of pedigree.

Angelina Paris, founded in 1903 in the city of love, has opened a bakery on Lexington Avenue and East 78th Street — their second location in the greatest city on earth.

Founded 120 years ago by confectioner Antoine Rumpelmayer, and named after his daughter-in-law according to their website, the bakery has long been renown for its high-end clientele attracted to their elegant pastries.

Angelina is most known for their famous Mont-Blanc, a mix of meringue, cream and chestnut paste vermicelli, and their signature, and pricy, old-fashioned hot chocolate.

The shop is opening at the base of a new, 205-foot-tall residential building, with an address of 150 East 78th Street. With an indulgent 25 units across its 16 floors — averaging 2,600 square feet each and an average sale price of $10 million— it's likely that its occupants won't bat an eye at paying the $11 Angelina charges for hot chocolate at their sprawling Bryant Park location.

Since their new spot won't offer table service like their 3,000 square foot Bryant Park space does, the menu will most likely be limited to their extensive desert offerings, according to East Side Feed.
