Fire Breaks Out In Upper East Side Apartment Building, FDNY Says

Firefighters responded to the scene around 10:15 to find fire in a fifth-floor apartment on East 82nd Street.

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — A fire broke out Thursday morning in the top floor apartment of an Upper East Side residential building, an FDNY spokesman said.

Firefighters arrived at 411 East 82nd Street around 10:15 a.m. to discover a fire on the building's fifth floor. The main body of the fire was knocked down in about 30 minutes, an FDNY spokesman said.

Nobody was injured during the fire, an FDNY spokesman said.

The five-story building is located between First and York avenues and contains 20 apartments, according to city records. There have been no recent buildings complaints or violations filed against the property.
