Former White House Chef Opens UES Restaurant, Report Says
The former White House exective pastry chef's new spot serves up French and American food on East 61st Street.

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — A well-known pastry chef who cooked in the White House kitchen during the Barack Obama and George W. Bush administrations has opened a restaurant on the Upper East Side, according to reports.
Bill Yosses' new French restaurant Palais by Perfect Pie is the chef's first venture into a standalone brick-and-mortar business, Eater New York first reported. Yosses is best known for his online store called Perfect Pie, which recently organized a successful pop-up.
The new restaurant is on East 61st Street between Lexington and Park avenues and is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, Eater reported. Menu items include French classics such as roasted duck breast and items with a more American influence such as flatbread pizza, according to the report.

Yossess served as the White House's executive pastry chef for the last year of the Bush administration and most of the Obama administration from 2007 to 2014, according to Perfect Pie's website. During his time at the White House he was involved in First Lady Michelle Obama's "Let's Move" campaign against childhood obesity. The chef's background is in French cooking and baking, and his early career was based in some of France's prestigious eateries.
