Free Dancing, Movie Screening On The UES This Week
A free screening of Frozen II and tango lessons are both coming to the Upper East Side this week.

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — Summer may be drawing to a close, but Upper East Siders can still enjoy the warm weather by stopping by a couple of free events in the neighborhood this week.
Both events will be held Friday afternoon and evening, sponsored by City Councilmember Ben Kallos and the Parks Department. Here's the rundown:

Tango Fridays: Friday, Sept. 17, 3–5 p.m. at Sutton Place Park
- Featuring free tango lessons and live music, residents are invited to "put on their dancing shoes" to come learn with Strictly Tango NYC Dance School in the park on East 56th Street and Sutton Place.
- Guests can bring a partner, friends or come solo and "find a new dancing partner."
- If you miss this week's, the event will be held again on Sept. 24.
- You must RSVP to attend.
Frozen II: Friday, 7:30–9:30 p.m. at Carl Schurz Park

- The wildly popular 2019 Disney film will be screened Friday at dusk, or around 7:30 p.m., in the beloved park near East 86th Street and East End Avenue.
- No registration is required but admission will be first-come, first-served. Guests are invited to bring their families — and a blanket.
- The screening is cosponsored by the East 86th Street Association.
A previously scheduled skate night also set for Friday has been canceled due to a vendor issue, Kallos's office said.
