French Wine Bar Opens On Upper East Side
The new business is located on East 81st Street between Second and Third avenues.

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — Upper East Siders have a new spot to enjoy French food paired with wines from the country.
New wine bar Pitchoun opened recently in a cozy retail space on East 81st Street between Second and Third Avenues. In addition to a large wine selection, the new business serves up beer, cocktails and "French tapas."
The extensive wine menu — which features whites, reds, rose and sparkling wines — starts at prices ranging around $11 per glass and about $40 per bottle. If you've got refined tastes, bottles for more than $100 are also available, according to Pitchoun's wine menu.

The food menu features small plates that cost either $13 or $18. Offerings include: escargots with herb garlic butter, an upside down cheese souffle with tomato basil coulis, braised short ribs and a selection of four cheeses from the Hudson Valley. Desserts such as an almond tart and chocolate pot de cream are also offered for $9.
Pitchoun sources most of its ingredients from farms in the Hudson Valley, according to its website. The new business is open daily from 5-12 p.m., according to its website.
