Single NYC Eatery Makes List Of America's 100 Best Restaurants
Believe it or not, an Upper East Side eatery is New York City's sole representative on a new OpenTable list of America's best restaurants.
NEW YORK CITY — Boston has more top restaurants than New York City does, according to Open Table. As do San Diego, Fort Worth and St. Louis. We have one. Count it, it won't take long: One.
Majorelle on the Upper East Side is the only New York City restaurant to make OpenTable's "Top 100" list of best restaurants in America released Thursday.
City dwellers' second option for superior dining is to travel past Sylvia's, Sushi Nakazawa or Veselka and head to a place called Sergio's in Pelham, New York.

It's possible that since the Top 100 is based on user reviews, what OpenTable has discovered is that New Yorkers are just really picky about where and what they eat.
By that logic, apparently, Majorelle, a French establishment housed within the Lowell Hotel on East 63rd Street, made the cut. The 75-seat restaurant opened in 2017, in an elegant space with a bar and a skylit garden.

Tagged by OpenTable as "romantic" and suitable for special occasions and quiet conversations, Majorelle's menu includes a three-course prix-fixe that will set you back $145. If you're so inclined, you can tack on an order of ossetra caviar for $265 — or a Moroccan-style mint tea for $9.
Despite the high price tag, Majorelle's customers appear to be getting what they asked for, if its reviews are any indication.
"Food fabulous, service impeccable," one user wrote, according to OpenTable. "A great take on escargot."
