UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — Demolition permits have been filed for a Second Avenue building where a cannabis store just opened last November, according to city records.

Permits show that the building owner, Snir David, is looking to fully demolish 1308 Second Ave., a four-story building with six residential units.

A manager at the first floor cannabis store told Patch that they had not heard anything about demolition work occurring in the building.

According to the permit, the residential units are all currently vacant.

A number listed for David on the permit was connected to StayBK, a self-described "boutique rental firm" based in Brooklyn. A phone message and email were left unanswered.

David, along with Moshe Levy, whose name appears as the managing agent of the Second Avenue building, recently closed an $8.4 million deal for a five-story Greenwich Village walkup.

In 2017, David purchased a Grand Street property in Brooklyn for $3.1 million, according to Bklyner, with the intention of demolishing and replacing the existing three-story building.

Through the now-expired 421a tax exemption, the newly constructed 10-unit apartment building at Grand Street offered three "affordable" one-bedroom units for $2,310 a month.
