Man Dies 10 Days After Traumatic Yorkville Truck Crash: Police
The man suffered severe head wounds after he was hit by a box truck on Second Avenue, officials said Friday morning.

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — A man hit by a truck in Yorkville last month has died from his injuries, police announced Friday morning.
A 2016 Hino box truck slammed into the man as he crossed Second Avenue near East 82nd Street just before 6 a.m. on April 29, police said.
First responders rushed the man, who suffered severe head wounds, to New York-Presbyterian Weill Cornell Medical Center, said officials.

The man, whose name was not released, died from his injuries 10 days later on Tuesday.
The 57-year-old truck driver remained at the scene and was not arrested, police said.

Since 2016, there have been 16 crashes resulting in 16 injuries at the intersection, according to city data.
